Sparkle Girlz, originally by Funville, is a modern brand that includes dolls and ponies (for the purposes of this guide, I’m only looking at the ponies/unicorns). Sparkle Girlz dolls were available in the United States at Wal-Mart, but the collections of ponies and unicorns was limited to UK distribution. However, in 2019, Zuru acquired the Sparkle Girlz brand from Funville; and unicorns are now showing up in US.
Funville-era Sparkle Girlz equines were available as Ponies (“earth ponies”) or Unicorns. The two species are completely different styles from each other, and are usually sold in family packs with a variety of sizes. The Unicorn page is here. Sparkle Girlz also makes 12″ Barbie doll-size horses as part of the doll line.
The Ponies are available in numerous colors. There are three poses each available in six sizes. (It was much more complex than originally anticipated to catalog them!) Each size group of three poses has one with hearts, one with stars, and one with butterflies. There is a molded decoration on the hooves, and a painted leg design that matches the hoof design. Look for variants in painted vs. unpainted hooves.
