Perhaps the “grandmother of all fakies”, Love & Groom Horse was made by Porto Play in 1982. I have a hunch she drew at least a little inspiration from proto-MLP My Pretty Pony. She is a bit smaller, only about 7″ tall. Judging from eBay listings, Porto Play was a company active for exactly 1982, primarily making fakie G.I. Joe and Glo-Worm-style bears. UPDATE: Another Portoplay pony toy has been identified dated 1986, Nite Lite Pets.
